Dec. 9- Done

Wow. What a wild ride, this project was. I feel honored to have had such wonderful group members. We came together as ONE, baby! Couldn't have asked for a better team, or a greater experience in making this film. Jake still is the man. Give the guy an Oscar, or something.
-Rhett

Dec. 6- A Final Look

We had one final "pre-game" meeting. It's looking fantastic. Jake is the man. I'm excited to unleash this film upon the class tomorrow. They will be in for a major treat.
(Please forgive me for the late-ish post!)

Dec. 2- Editing Pary

Well, I wouldn't actually call it so much of an editing party, because Jake did most of that. We basically watched what he put together, and made a few suggestions. However, we did come up with some creative ways to ever-improve our film, and made a great remix on theories, ethics, and ideologies. It is comprehensive and very funny, if I say so myself.
(Apologies for the post being late!)

Nov. 30- Team

Further filming. We just about got that part out of the way. Hope so, at least. A few more hours tonight at various locales on-campus. Tiring, but surely exciting!
(I ask forgiveness for such a late post)

Nov. 29- Team

Today we began our filming. It was long, but went well overall.
We have good lines, a good script, a great producer, and fantastic actors.
All a work in progress, baby.
(I ask forgiveness for such a late post.)

The End

What a fun group this was... We all got along, did well on our stuff, contributed our parts, had a TON of fun... I'll miss it. I guess this is the last post to 2010BorderPatrol... It's going to be weird. If you ever need help or anything computer-wise or video-wise, feel free to hit me up... I'm a jack of all trades when it comes to computer stuff, so maybe I'll have a quick fix if you ever need it.

Goodnight and Good Luck

I almost can't believe it's all over. After literally hundreds of hours of work (a good chunk of that being Jake's) put the finishing touches on our video tonight. I'm SO excited for tomorrow and so grateful that I got such an awesome group. :) You have all been incredible to work with, and  I consider you all my friends. I'm just so thrilled!

Prepare to be....

Blown Away.

Tonight

We just got done meeting (from 8:30-10:30) at the library. Our video has all the final touches and it will look stupendous tomorrow. Jake, as you can see, deserves an A+++ for all the incredible editing he did. He's also showing up a little early to make sure our video works.

Dear group,
You are the best group I think I've ever had, and I love you for it. Thanks for everything!
-Mariah

Thursday

We met as a group on Thursday from about 6-11:30ish. We wrote an ethics/ideology/theory rap that you WILL enjoy. :)

workin again... final stretch... but a long one (cont.)

Alright, well, I laid down while the scene I was working on from 1:30pm or whenever to 12:30am was rendering, and kinda fell asleep... Got up, and now I'm lookin' at all the stuff I have left to do, realizing it's Monday, and thinking "Oh no, oh no" because if THAT 17 seconds took me 11 hours... and there's a 34 second clip, and two 6-8 second clips, what am I gonna do??

TIME FREEZE!!!!

I wish... I need the rap video footage because somehow it didn't make it onto my laptop. That's a crucial part to our project. I don't know if I should even start this footage because it's not going to be done by when we wanted to finalize it. Especially since I don't have the rap. And no DVD menu or anything yet. That part **shouldn't** be too hard.

Perhaps I'm just depressed now, but who knows. Anyway, I'm going to contact you all and let you know the situation.

workin again... final stretch... but a long one

Argh I wish I'd have awoken earlier!! Didn't start workin' again 'til about (I swear 1:30pm or so, but looking back at texts I think it really was) 3:00pm, but I had some other things to do during the afternoon. I've got everything finalized, except for the scenes without the FX added. Looks pretty good =] Anyway, yeah, only two more scenes after the one I'm currently working on (plus the song) and then we'll be good to go! Easier said than done, so I'm gonna get back to working on the fight. =]

Rhett VS Rhett

Scene is DONE! It looks way sweet. Rhett debating with himself... Who'd've thought? Haha, anyway, I think only like 4 more "special FX" scenes and then I'll be done! (minus the song)

Worked from 1:15pm-3:00pm this afternoon.

Friday, December 3, 2010

workin workin...

K well decided to get one more done before tonight was over. It was a short one, but good. Got all McCarthy flipped and black & white, but still haven't done the Rhett VS Rhett. That's my next project for the morning. After that, I think I've only got like 4 more clips of "special FX" hahaha Woot! This is gonna be awesome guys! =]

Timeframe for this last clip: 10:00pm-10:58pm

workin' again

Well, I got let off work early, but forgot to post when I started, which was around 7:00pm. Hard at work, almost have another scene done. A fairly long one, so it could maybe count as two... haha =P Anyway, I'll add to this post when I'm done working again.

*edit* Done with the scene I've been working on since Thursday night at 9:45 tonight. Finally. 17 seconds. Argh. Haha but it looks way good =] Slowly adding things and it looks so BAD (in a good way)

working...

Started work at about 1:30pm. Decided to start using the blog as a way to keep track of time. I will add an edit to this post when I have to go to work or quit working on the project for a bit. Ought to be interesting! Oh yeah, and we had a meeting from 6:00pm-11:45pm Thursday to wrap it all up. NOW it's really all on me haha

*edit* Finished at 3:30pm.

Tuesday meeting

We met Tuesday filming from 8:30-11:30ish. Rock on.

(As you can tell, Jake has been busy, busy, busy editing.)

We are having a chicken party/ editing/ making final touches right now.

workin workin workin

During my creative arts class (9am-10am) I worked on adding collisions to a scene, to make it look a little more realistic. I'm not too good with creating, I'm more of a designer, so, I did what I could haha =]

Time working... (cont. 2)

Well, I took about an hour break... Then had to watch a movie for Creative Arts for two hours or so... but other than that, I've been steady goin'! Two scenes done... Plus most of the stuff put in the right order in iMovie... Only like 3 or 4 more to go! Then put the flashes in... Hopefully the team likes it. It's A LOT better than my last previews and tests... So I hope this work hasn't gone for nothing... Man, this has really been a long time editing and I'm kinda tired, but the show must go on! Gotta get this done... Honestly, it's been pretty fun and the time has flown. I didn't realize it was 4:30am until... well, 4:30am hahaha... I don't know whether I should keep going or get some sleep... When there's a deadline for a movie project it kinda worries me and I just wanna keep goin' and get it done, but I don't know... Plus, when you stay up so late, and go to bed, it's almost harder to get up, ya know? Anyway... Guess I'll see what happens when I get back from getting a drink. Freakin' excited!!

Team Meeting 12/30

Yesterday we spent more than three hours filming...and we finished! I would explain more, but it's a surprise.  :) Jake is doing some really hard editing right now.

We'll meet tomorrow night!

Time working... (cont.)

Well, my dad was in town and had money so I didn't have to go home... Awesome! I started breaking down clips, importing more, and now I am editing in After Effects. Started around... 2:35pm.

Time working...

Alright, so, last night we filmed for another 3.5 hours approx. We finished up and now its all on me to put it together =] Excited!!

Started at 12:30pm converting files... Done.
Now moving stuff between my MacBook and PC...
After this I'll probably have to go home to pick up rent money... DOH >.<
But then, I'll be able to edit and get started on my fun! Muahahaha...
Probably get done transferring everything around... 2:15pm or so. Then I'll have a short break, then right back to work! Our movie is BOMB! =D

*edit* Time stamp is wrong. It's 1:52pm. Apparently our blog isn't set to Mountain Standard Time hahaha

Personal Research-Allee

In the past week, I've spent about two hours sorting through New York Times articles about McCarthy, Murrow, and the See it Now Program. This time also includes when I've worked on my parts for the script.

Filming!

Last night we filmed from about 8:30pm to just before midnight. It was loads of fun, and went really well. We only have 3 more parts to film, and we got at least half of the script already filmed. Hope tonight goes well!

Also guys, I updated the script. I made what we haven't filmed yet bold so then you guys can kinda plan for what's goin' on tonight.

Team Meeting 11/29

Yesterday, we got about half of our filming done.

If  I do say so myself, it was pretty epic.

We're meeting tonight at eight to finish, and then we're editing on Thursday.

:)

Last night's meeting

Our group met last night from 8:30-12ish. We filmed approximately half of the footage we need and had a lot of fun. (At least, I did.) We're meeting again today at 8:30 to hopefully finish recording.

Team Meeting this week

We met Monday night for a couple of hours in the library and basically finished our script. I have a lot of confidence in what we've got planned.
We planned to meet Tuesday and begin filming, but the "blizzard" caused us to change the meeting to a later date.
Happy Thanksgiving! :)

Another effect for our fight scene?

Opinions? I think it'd be awesome to add at least a small portion kinda like this, where the lightning gets absorbed by the lightsaber. At least a couple seconds =] Anyway, I worked on this Wed. afternoon, took approx. a half hour, not too bad.

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Rhett's video

Hey guys! Finally got that practice video of Rhett edited.... with sounds and music and everything!!! Took SO long!!! hahaha but it was fun =]

Workin' Hard in the Lib- Nov. 22

Today we worked on our script from about 8:15-10:45. It's just about done! Time to film tomorrow! The storyline is epic, the film with serious serene potential.

Scripting once more...

Tonight from 8:00pm to undisclosed time (a few hours or so) we worked on finishing the script. We plan on filming tomorrow morn/afternoon/night. However long we need to get it done. It's gonna be AWESOME!!! We're so ready to see our script on film and all the special effects added! =]

Group Domination of a Developing Script- Nov. 19

As a team, we worked on our script from 9:30-1:30. I, Rhett, missed about an hour because I had to go to a class. But, we made good progress, and will continue to do so tonight.

Nov. 18- Personal

I, Rhett, did some more personal research on McCarthy, in particular. I also researched the true realities portrayed by the film "Good Night and Good Luck." This process took an hour-and-a-half, maybe two.

Saturday, November 20, 2010

Test Movie

Alright guys... I got a test movie for our ending... (which takes forever I've found out!) But it's gonna be freakin' awesome!!!! So anyway, here's the vid.

P.S. - Does Brenda read these, or just look to see we communicated? Well, Dr. Cooper, if you do read these, please don't cheat and look at my test videos I've uploaded haha =P

Library meeting yesterday

We were in the library from 9:30-1:30. We got a lot of the script written, and we plan to meet again Monday to finish it so that we can be filming on Tuesday. Our team is great.

Friday, November 19, 2010

Long day at the library

Today we spent 4 hours in the library, but it wasn't too bad. We got a lot of the script done, and planned more filming and who brings what and fun stuff like that... lol

Intro for movie idea?

Brenda, if you're reading this, you have to promise not to watch! haha

Team Meeting Tuesday

Our team meeting Tuesday was bomb! We got our storyboard completed, and planned out filming and other various meeting dates. Gonna be wicked! d(^_^)b (that's a guy with two thumb-up and he's happy!)

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Meeting

Our meeting yesterday was very successful. We laid out the storyboard for our movie and plan to get together again on Friday for a few hours to write up the script. It's going to be a very creative rendition. :)

Research

This weekend, I did an hour and a half of research on the facts behind our movie.

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Team Meeting 11/16

Today we had a bomb dot com meeting. We were able to create a storyboard and exchange our ideas. We set our filming dates. We decided on tasks, who needs to get what and such. Our next meeting will be Friday afternoon when we will write our script.

:)

Prepare to be...BLOWN away.

Group Time- Nov. 16

Today we drew out the entire storyboard of our film. The storyboard that we created has loads of potential and promises to be an entertaining film, if executed well. Everyone had great ideas and we were clicking as we conceptualized the film and put it to paper with the storyboards.

Nov. 11- Doin' Research

Today I, Rhett, did some research on my topics of construction of reality by "Good Night and Good Luck,"and the construction of reality of the film as analyzed by the New York Times. It was some good personal time with communism, film, and all of their beauties.

Nov. 10- Group Viewership

The evening of the 10th we watched "Good Night and Good Luck" together. It was great. We analyzed the film by taking notes on the different theories related to it- with frames, themes, historical facts, and so forth. I was able to take some great notes about these various elements.
As evidence of our group unity, we also enjoyed waffles with plenty of toppings as we watched the film. Unfortunately, Jake doesn't like waffles, but the rest of us enjoyed them.

Friday, November 12, 2010

Team meeting on Wednesday night

We met on Wed. night to watch the movie. We made waffles at Allee's dorm (even though Jake apparently isn't a big fan of them- should have told us!) and sat and watched. We talked about the movie some after our showing. We also brainstormed what we should do on our video. We might spice it up a little, but be warned: Rhett did not learn his dance moves from me. Anyways, our next meeting is Tuesday. By then we're going to have a lot of research done. Not just mentally, but we're going to physically have notes, ideas, etc. We can then really nail down what we're doing for our project and potentially even start on the video this coming week.

My personal responsibility is to really nail down the facts of what happened. I already feel that this movie was pretty historically accurate because it was actually about being accurate and checking facts prior to reporting (plus we got a glimpse of Bailey and Noelle's video:), but I'll certainly do my homework to make sure this is true. I also am assigned to figure out dominant ideologies presented in the film and how they relate to reality. Exciting!

Thursday, November 11, 2010

Team Meeting 11/11

Last night, we ate waffles, watched Goodnight and Good Luck, and had a neat-o rapping session. We took notes as we watched the movie and split our research into four sections. We decided for sure on doing a movie, and discussed the format of the movie.

We decided that we don't have enough to do to meet on Monday, so our next meeting will be on Tuesday during the class time.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Group Meeting - Tuesday, Nov 9

Our group met and discussed when we were going to watch the movie, and we turned it into a waffle party, even though it's at 9:00. Who says you can't have breakfast for dinner? It's going to be lots of fun =] We also split up who was going to analyze what in the movie, and decided that once we get our filming done, I am going to edit the film, which I enjoy to do.

First Meeting

Our first meeting was yesterday in the library. We decided what we wanted to do and divided up responsibilities. Rhett wrote them down. I'm researching facts and ideologies. We plan to get together in a couple of hours to have a waffle party and watch the video. Rhett is bringing mixed berries. Jake is getting cool whip. I am bringing syrup. Allee is making the waffles and she's got the movie. :) Good deal, group.

The Blowing-Away Continues

Today we held our first group meeting for Project #3, at the assigned time on Tuesday. It went swimmingly. We assigned research topics to each group member, and planned a group time to watch our film, "Good Night and Good Luck." We are all excited to research our topics and analyze the film together.

Below is the list of the different research responsibilities of each team member:

Allee: Framing and Framing from the NY Times
Mariah: Historical Facts and Dominant Ideologies
Jake: Themes and Editing
Rhett (me): Construction of Reality, and C.R. from the NY Times

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

I know it's past the deadline, so this post doesn't have to count.

If you guys thought our book was good before, you're in for a treat. :) I just spent another couple of hours printing up dividers, a cover page (and drawing a cartoon of us), and putting it all in order. We rock, guys! Boo-yah!

The Final Showdown in the Library- November 1

The final meeting of this jam-packed series of team meetings has concluded with an extremely productive meeting. We finalized the blog, made six more analyses from the website for the portfolio, and a beautiful portfolio was created by Mariah and Jake. Nick further developed his tab, and I also further categorized cartoon analyzations for other tabs that full under multiple categories. Also, the general tabs like the Introduction, Theories, and Conclusion were developed to provide a wraparound context for the six tabs that categorize each of the cartoons and how they relate to and frame immigration. We have a powerful website, and have labored diligently.
Brenda, prepare to be blown away.

Oct. 29- Individual Work

I made more analyzations of cartoons, and had to find several pictures again on-line to be able to put them on the website because I had found them through a hard copy initially. It was tedious, but I retrieved nearly all of them, and I'm happy with the way my assigned tab of "pro-immigration" has developed.

Oct. 29- Yet Anotha Group Meeting

Today we had a solid group meeting. Me, Allee, Mariah, and Nick were there. We assembled more of our website. It was a really solid group meeting, and got much more group. I am really impressed with our group. We had people in the room working on it as early as 2, and as late as 4. We made much progress on our blog. I'm happy that we held this meeting because of the progress that was made, and we set another one for Monday at 9 PM at the library to ensure that we will be ready for Tuesday.

Meeting tonight

Tonight, we met at the library at 9 and we're still here (2 and 1/2 hours later). We finished pasting all our cartoons/evaluations in the book. We ended up with 29 evaluations. (Rhett's the man!) We finished things on our blog, and the conclusion is being typed onto the blog right now. I feel like we really nailed this project, and we went above and beyond to get things right. We worked well together, and it's great.

Good job, guys!

-Mariah

Team Meeting Nov 1, start at 9, end at 12 baby!

I came to the meeting, helped with the blog navigation, cut analysis and images, then updated some posts on the blog.

And what we did today... 'twas AWESOME! Had a good time with everyone, and time went by quickly while we worked on our project.

Allee-Blog Work

Today I spent three hours on the blog, finalizing everything.

Coordinator Report-Team Meeting-11/1/10

Today we finished publishing everything! We double checked our links, and finished our conclusion. :) After three hours, we're done!

Last Team Meeting Tonight

We're meeting at 9 pm in library room 120.

Typing and Posting

I've spent an hour typing and posting information on the blog.

Work for the project

I spent an hour and a half this weekend looking up facts/information for our blog. I also have spent an hour cutting out cartoons and pasting them in the book, and I'm not done yet.

Personal Research-Allee

Today I spent about an hour posting cartoons on the blog and fixing small details. :)

Coordinator Report-Team Meeting-10/29/10

Today, we posted to the blog and organized our binder. We're more than half way done with the blog, which is a good stepping point.

Thanks for all your work team!

Allee

Work today

Today I spent an hour and a half typing up and printing off cartoon evaluations. We met as a team in the library, and I spent my time uploading and posting things on our blog.
Yesterday I met with the team in the library. It was awesome, they are all great and I love posting on the blog.

I am currently at the library blissfully anticipating thier arival and finalizing my cartoon analysis.

Team Meeting

We met in the library for an hour and went over particulars for the blog. We also talked about how to meticulously analyze our cartoons so they're well-done. I spent another hour going over evaluations and their wording.

Personal Research-Allee

Tonight I spent around an hour and a half analyzing cartoons are putting them on the blog. With both Rhett's and my sections almost done, I feel like it's really coming along well. In our meeting tomorrow, we need to focus on our binder. It's 15% of our grade!

:)

Oct. 28- Individual labor- Rhett

...though it certainly isn't immigrant labor! I spent an hour after the group project, from about 1:20-2:20, working on my individual analyses since I, to my terror, realized that I needed to re-find all of the URLs for the hard copy of my cartoons in order to place them on the breakingborders blog. That sure was laborious and stressful. I also came back from 4:30-5 to work on it a bit after doing some newspaper work and study from another class. Then, after a business presentation, Statesman staff meeting and SI, I returned and from 7:30 until now (9:07) have been finding more cartoons and creating new analyses for the breakingborders website. That preceded work on the hard copies for the portfolio. Three glorious hours overall spent on this project individually today, and it's going very well.

Oct. 28-Still pluggin'- Rhett

Today was another team meeting. It went extremely well in my opinion. We brought together all of the analysis to be placed onto the website that Allee has created. She invited us through e-mail to be a part of the website/blog, and now we are good to go to place and prepare our analyses on the blog in preparation for next week. I would say today we also drew closer together as a group, which is always good to see. On that topic, you might want to ask the other team members.

Coordinator Report-Team Meeting 10/28

Today, everybody attended our meeting. I showed everybody how how to post on the project blog. Updated our profiles on blogger, and started to post content to the project blog. Each of us has two assigned sections, that need to be done by Monday. We'll meet again before the project is due.

Allee

my work - jake

Alright, spent awhile working on the introduction for the site this morning before the team meeting, and I believe that's all I have for this post.

Personal Research-Allee

Yesterday, I spent three hours doing research, analyzing cartoons, and writing my portion of the blog.

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

October 27- Individual Research- Rhett

Today, I spent a couple of hours in the evening at the library doing a lot more research on pro-illegal immigration in preparation for our group meeting tomorrow. I also did analysis papers on a couple of more political cartoons, and found other really good political cartoons in support of undocumented workers. I read some articles in support of the issue, and pulled five of them to be able to have text to reference to when I place what I have researched onto the website that Allee, it looks like, has so beautifully and laboriously been designing.

Personal Research-Allee

Yesterday, I spent another hour or two on the blog, and an hour analyzing cartoons.

Meeting Tomorrow (10/28)

We're meeting in room 120 in the library tomorrow. It's reserved from 12-1:30 tomorrow. Be there or fail- seriously. :)

Final Cartoon Research

I just spent two hours re-evaluating, researching, and rewriting my evaluations of the historical cartoons.

-Mariah

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Yesterday's Meeting

We met in the library for an hour yesterday, and each group member was to evaluate the 4 cartoons and give a hard copy or email a digital version to me (Mariah). Today Nick gave me a hard copy of 3 international cartoons before class. Rhett and Allee gave me their cartoons and evaluations. Jake emailed me his cartoons and evaluations.

My work so far...

I've worked on my cartoon analysis(es?) for a couple hours, and then got them into a MS Word document to email to Mariah because I'm sick today.

On Thursday during class time, we should have all of our web pages for the blog written down, and then we will organize the blog together, and put all of the information in. Also, we could work on the binder with Mariah, while one person gets their info posted on the computer.

Almost done, guys! Keep up the good work =]

Monday, October 25, 2010

Allee-Blog Work

Today I spent 5 hours working on the blog design and researching some videos.

-Allee

Coordinator Report-Team Meeting-10/25/10

Today in our team meeting we worked on the blog design. We decided that we need to have all of our cartoons to Mariah by tomorrow at noon. We look over each other's cartoons, and made some edits that we'll change before we finalize the binder. By Thursday we need to all of our materials to get the blog up.

Thanks guys!

Allee

October 25- Group Project- from Rhett

Today we showed each other what we had individually worked on. Most of us have our analysis papers complete. I myself need to do a bit more research, but it's been beneficial asking the team members their opinions of my analysis papers and if they are accurate. It has helped me realize that I need to be a bit more accurate on a few of the papers, so I will adjust that tonight in time for tomorrow by class.

October 25- Individual- Rhett

Today I spent time in the morning working on my analysis papers and doing more research on my topic, pro-undocumented immigrants. I need to change a couple of my analysis papers to be more accurate on the positive or negative portrayals of immigrants and immigration policies. I am having a lot of challenges with finding the title of the cartoon, but I will find them.

Group Project Oct. 21- a Post from Rhett

Today, we made a lot of great progress. We assigned tabs/topics from the website that Allee is primarily creating to each person, i.e. pro-immigration, anti-immigration, international cartoons, historical cartoons, and other topics. We also set deadlines to have the analysis papers prepared, along with research for our projects on those same topics.

group meeting

I missed our first meeting on wensday because I am forgetful.
I have been to all other group meetings...
I have done about two hours research on the topic of international cartoons, specifically the israely pallestinian conflict.

Group Work Oct. 20- from Rhett

Today we brought together the political cartoons that we had looked up, researched, and printed online. We spent some time selecting what cartoons we wanted to use, because among four of us we had probably close to 40 slides. We also separated them into different categories of pro-immigration, anti-immigration, relating to the United States, and how many historical cartoons we want to incorporate.

Historical Editorial Cartoon Research

I just spent 2 hours researching and filling out evaluation forms for my historical cartoons. I need to re-write them and do a little more research before they are ready for the book, but so far it's going good. I am having some trouble finding information for old cartoons (such as who the cartoonist is, which publication, exact date of publication) but I'll ask Professor Cooper/ the TAs about that. Now it's time for our third team meeting in the library.

My Post

So far, everything has flowed, and seems to be great! Getting ideas down seems to be a doozy, but once we've got it, everyone has liked it (or at least pretended they liked it haha). I've got all of my cartoons and Cartoon Analysis Worksheets for them done. I'm waiting for most of our blog to be up before I write an intro for it, so that won't be done for a couple more days.

Speaking of which, can we get a link and invite to the project blog?

Anyway, as far as I know, we are all up-to-speed with our project, and have great plans for it to look neat and professional. Can't wait to see how it all molds together!

Coordinator Report-Team Meeting-10/22/10

Today we had a VERY successful team meeting. We decided on some particulars of our blog, and made specific assignments for the binder. There will 10 sections on our blog. The assignments are as follows:
Allee-Obama Administration
Rhett-Pro Immigration Cartoons
Jake-Anti Immigration Cartoons
Mariah-Historical Cartoons
Nick-International Cartoons

The more general sections are:
Jake-Introduction
Nick-Conclusion
Allee-Video
Mariah-The Facts
Rhett-Theories

We'll meet again on Monday. By then we need have finished analyzing our cartoons and have background research for the blog.

Please remember, if we want a good grade on the project, we all need to be posting!

Allee

Meeting last Thursday

Our team met in room 112 in the library. We decided which tabs to include on our blog project and divided up responsibilities. In terms of cartoon evaluations, we decided that each person would research a specific type of cartoon (anti-immigration, pro-immigration, political adgenda, historical, international). The team coordinator wrote down what each person's responsibility was. I was assigned to research 4 historical cartoons and research the facts. We decided to meet again on Monday (today) at 2:30 in the library.

*New Room for Meeting*

At 2:30 today, we will be in room 146 in the library. Please be there with cartoons!

Coordinator Report-Team Meeting-10/20/10

In our first team meeting we sorted through political cartoons, trying to pick cartoons that covered a variety of viewpoints. We looked at some historical cartoons and tried to relate them to immigration today.

We decided that we wanted to create a blog, rather than a movie, because it would allow us to work independently and would spread the work out among us equally.

Jobs Assigned:

Allee-Blog Maintenance
Jake-Technical/Blog Movies
Mariah-Analyzing Cartoons
Rhett-Analyzing Cartoons
Nick-Did not attend meeting

Our next team meeting will be today, at noon. We hope to finish our binder of cartoons and set up the blog.

Meeting in library

Today our team met for an hour in the library. Each of us spent time prior to the meeting finding/printing out editorial cartoons. We decided that for tomorrow we would pick our four favorite and fill out evaluation sheets for each of them so that collectively we would have enough for the binder. Tomorrow we plan to go through each evaluation as a group and add any additional ideas/interpretations our group has of each cartoon.

We also decided we would do a blog for our project so it can be well-organized and easier for people who need to work independently.

Our first meeting is Wednesday in room 112 at the library. Make sure to bring five cartoons. Let's knock this project out!

Thanks,
